Transitional Zone Maintenance. Maintenance programs in the Transitional Zone depend on what kind of turfgrass you're using. If the field has warm season varieties like bermudagrass, follow warm-season maintenance practices - just realize that the cooler weather in the transitional zone makes the growing season shorter.
September Maintenance. In September, the new season is in full swing and all your pitches should be looking at their best. With the warm temperatures encouraging grass growth, you should be continuing with regular mowing of the sward to help promote tillering and mowing the grass at least twice a week; more if you have the resources.
xDivot the pitch as frequently as possible and apply a mix of sand and seed into divot scars and tamp the mix into the scar. If you have the time you might want to pre-germinate a batch of seed specifically for this task but do it in small batches or you may end up wasting a lot.
annual maintenance of winter pitches is not only important in improving the quality and quantity of football played at a site, but is also contributes to a reduction in injuries to players. In an effort to assist clubs with the maintenance of their natural grass pitches the FAI have put together a short document on pitch maintenance.

It’s not only the pitch itself that requires maintenance.
